Dr Steve Binks joined the International Lead Association (ILA) 2011, having previously worked at the global pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline. In his role as Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs he leads a team charged with developing scientific information and analyzing global regulations impacting lead value chains; advocating positions that do not disproportionately affect member’s interests.

He was instrumental in the development of Lead battery360° (see https://leadbattery360.org/) , a global initiative developed by four Trade Associations to promote and recognize responsible sourcing and manufacturing in lead battery value chains from mining through to lead battery manufacturing and recycling.

Steve spent over a decade as chair of the Regulatory forum for the European non-ferrous metals Trade Association, Eurometaux – a platform established to assess EU legislative development impacting companies in the metals sector.
