Dr A.K. Ola Hekselman is an award-winning entrepreneur, chemist, and battery scientist dedicated to advancing sustainable technologies for the energy transition. She holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of St Andrews, where she specialised in polymer electrolyte systems for solid-state lithium- and sodium-ion batteries. Ola later held research fellowships at the University of Oxford and Imperial College London, focusing on solid-state battery materials, degradation mechanisms, and innovative approaches to battery recycling. In 2021, she co-founded Solveteq, a spinout from Imperial College London, developing a cost- and energy-efficient solvent-based technology platform designed to decarbonise conventional metal extraction processes.
